A Journey of Discovery and Connection
Working with Brent Reiffer and Fallen Leaf Genealogy to uncover my husband’s father's history was a profound and life-changing experience. Prior to reaching out, we had very little information—not only about his military service during World War II, but about who he truly was as a person.
Brent worked exhaustively to piece together the life of a man we knew almost nothing about. From the very beginning, he was incredibly passionate about his work, deeply communicative, and collaborative every step of the way. He made the entire research process feel like a shared adventure, and he was an absolute joy to go on this journey with.
When Brent finished his research, we came away with a breathtaking and complete picture of a man so vital to our family. It now feels as though we have finally met him, 35 years after he passed away.

Our current project
There are nine Virginia women WWII veterans who died while serving their country. While some of these women have summarized stories available online, many have little to no written information at all. To honor their lives, service, and sacrifices, Fallen Leaf Genealogy is conducting in-depth research to share the most comprehensive stories possible, based on the existing records of (left to right and top to bottom): 2nd Lt Eva Ageon, Seaman Apprentice Ruth Stone, Cpl Maoma Ridings, Cpl Betty Driskill, ENS Elizabeth Seay, PFC Nan Porter, 2nd Lt Nancy Hedges, 1st Lt Elnora Jones, and 2nd Lt Joan Nourse.
